Aurél became a partner at PortfoLion in 2020.

After completing his studies at Hitotsubashi University in Japan, he pursued a career in journalism. Aurél transitioned to venture capital in 2011, with an MSc in data analytics under his belt. He spent eight years as an investment director and partner at Day One Capital.

Aurél handles early-stage investments at PortfoLion. He recently closed the Yieldigo and Novakid transactions.

All things Japanese remain one of his primary interests alongside spending time with his family and sliding into his running shoes.

As an icebreaker, I like to tell the story when I demonstrated the functions of an egg-packing robot for the Japanese audience, during the product demo of our portfolio company’s sensor.
